Position Summary: This position is for the Universityof New Mexico-Gallup Branch located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles westof Albuquerque, NMThe University of New Mexico Gallup Branch, Liberal Arts & Education Division seeks to hire temporary part-timefaculty members to teach face-to-face undergraduate-level physical activity, exercise and/or wellness-related classes in the Spring, Summer and Fall 2027 semesters. UNM Gallup instructors are responsible for all aspects of anyclass they are teaching including but not limited to meeting with the classduring assigned times that may include online, evenings and/or weekends, content delivery, assignment development, grading assignments, reporting ofgrades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by the department chair. Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by studentenrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven bygraduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated eachsemester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to thedivision chair. Salary Adjunct faculty are currently compensated on thebasis of their credentials and credit hour course loads.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Extensiveknowledge, skills, and abilities in area of expertise, along with leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor'sdegree in kinesiology, exercise science, fitness management, or related degree Appropriate activity certification, as needed (see application instructions)American Red Cross CPR/Basic Life Support certification (can also be earnedwithin 30 days of employment)Teaching experience preferredA demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities Application Instructions Only applications submitted through the official UNMJobs site will be accepted. These factors may include: An Associate or Baccalaureate degree in physical education or related field; Certification and/or advanced achievement in the content area and/or as a health fitness instructor from a credible national organization, board or accrediting body; Professional performance, honors, awards, or significant recognition that indicates the individual's level of discipline-based content knowledge; or Other demonstrated competencies and achievements relevant to the content of the course.
