About the role
- Room patients and obtain vital signs and medical histories
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures
- Perform point-of-care testing and collect specimens
- Perform EKGs and other clinical testing as trained
- Assist with wound care, splinting, and other urgent care procedures
- Administer medications and injections when permitted by training, clinic policy, and applicable regulations
- Prepare exam and procedure rooms
- Clean and sterilize equipment and maintain appropriate infection-control standards
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record
- Assist with patient flow to keep visits efficient
- Maintain clinical supplies and restock rooms
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients and families
- Work collaboratively with providers, medical assistants, front desk staff, and other members of the clinic team
- Current EMT certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong communication and patient-service skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team member
- Dependable, organized, and willing to jump in wherever needed
- Previous urgent care, emergency department, ambulance, or other clinical experience is preferred but not required
