The Chief of Staff to the Chairman serves as a senior strategic advisor and operational integrator within a rapidly evolving defense contracting organization. This role supports the Chairman by driving strategic initiatives, streamlining executive operations, and ensuring alignment across programs. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience navigating defense acquisition processes, government‑industry engagements, and enterprise‑level decision‑making.
As a trusted partner to the Chairman, the Chief of Staff manages executive priorities, synthesizes intelligence across business units, and provides clear, actionable recommendations. The role coordinates sensitive communications, prepares strategic briefings, and represents the Chairman in select internal and external engagements. This leader anticipates emerging needs, mitigates risks, and ensures the Chairman’s focus is directed toward the highest‑impact objectives.
The Chief of Staff drives execution of corporate initiatives supporting growth, operational excellence, and compliance with defense industry standards. Working closely with leadership in operations, business development, capture, engineering, and contracts, the Chief of Staff monitors progress on enterprise initiatives, resolves cross‑functional obstacles, and ensures actions align with DoD expectations, regulatory requirements, and corporate strategy. The role may oversee strategic projects, special task forces, and high‑visibility engagements assigned directly by the Chairman.
Success in this position requires exceptional judgment, confidentiality, communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively within complex, sensitive defense environments. The Chief of Staff must excel at influencing without authority, building trust with senior leaders, and maintaining a steady operational cadence despite rapidly shifting priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as senior advisor to the Chairman, providing strategic insight, operational oversight, and decision‑ready information.
Lead cross‑functional coordination for enterprise initiatives, ensuring alignment with DoD customer needs and corporate goals.
Prepare executive‑level briefings, strategic communications, and situational assessments for internal and external stakeholders.
Oversee execution of special projects, working groups, and strategic priorities assigned by the Chairman.
Represent the Chairman in selected engagements, maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and mission alignment.
Experience and SkillsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in business, public administration, national security, or related field preferred.
10+ years of experience in defense contracting, DoD programs, or national security‑related organizations.
Demonstrated expertise in executive operations, strategic planning, and cross‑functional leadership.
Exceptional communication, analytical, and executive‑level presentation skills.
Ability to manage sensitive information with the highest levels of discretion and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience supporting C‑suite or senior executive leadership.
Experience interfacing with senior DoD officials or defense industry executives.
Active security clearance (Secret or higher) or the ability to obtain one.
Proven success leading complex initiatives within high‑growth or mission‑critical environments.
