About the role
To support a privately held government contracting company, the full-time California Licensed Senior Accountant will manage monthly and year-end financial close processes, oversee general ledger activities, and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and government contracting requirements while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger close activities and prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Assist with accounting for direct and indirect costs associated with government contracts and ensure proper classification of costs
Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation while supporting audits and compliance with applicable regulations
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field; Accounting degree strongly preferred
3-7 years of progressive accounting experience with strong general ledger and financial statement experience
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and ability to apply it to actual accounting transactions
Experience preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and financial analyses using Excel
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment in accounting practices
