About the role
Company Description:
Top Hat Furniture is a growing furniture retailer focused on providing stylish, high-quality pieces for homes and offices through modern online channels. The company emphasizes a customer-first approach, offering a curated selection of products that balance design, comfort, and value. Team members collaborate across functions to deliver a seamless buying experience, from product discovery to delivery. Working at Top Hat Furniture offers opportunities to contribute to an expanding e-commerce brand, develop professionally, and support customers in creating spaces they love.
Role Description:
The Online Sales Specialist is a full-time remote role responsible for driving online sales and delivering an excellent digital customer experience. This role includes responding to customer inquiries via email, chat, and phone, guiding shoppers through product selection, and providing clear, accurate information about features, pricing, and availability. The Online Sales Specialist will manage and follow up on leads, handle order placement and basic troubleshooting, and support online marketing campaigns by suggesting product highlights and promotional opportunities. Day-to-day tasks also involve maintaining detailed records in sales and CRM tools, collaborating with team members on sales strategies, and staying current on product updates and policies. The role requires consistent, professional communication, proactive problem-solving, and a focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets in an online environment.
Qualifications:
Strong customer service skills, with a focus on responsiveness, empathy, and issue resolution. Clear and professional communication skills across written and verbal channels. Demonstrated sales skills, including lead follow-up, closing techniques, and consultative selling. Familiarity with online marketing concepts, e-commerce platforms, and digital sales tools. Experience delivering or supporting training on products, tools, or processes is beneficial. Comfort working independently in a remote setting, with reliable internet access and time management skills. Proficiency with CRM systems, online chat tools, and common office software applications. Previous experience in retail, e-commerce, or furniture/home goods sales is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, marketing, or related fields is an asset.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
