About the role
IT Category Manager – Technology Procurement (Remote)We are seeking an experienced IT Procurement professional to lead strategic sourcing and category management initiatives across enterprise technology spend categories. This is a procurement-focused role requiring strong experience in technology sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management, and category ownership. The ideal candidate will have managed large technology portfolios and possess a strong understanding of IT supplier markets, contracting standards, and sourcing best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies across technology categories including Software, SaaS, Cloud, Telecom, Infrastructure, Professional Services, and Outsourcing• Lead supplier negotiations, competitive sourcing events (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs), and contract discussions• Negotiate and manage MSAs, SOWs, Licensing Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, and Outsourcing Contracts• Partner with IT, Legal, Finance, Security, and business stakeholders to drive sourcing initiatives and maximize value• Manage supplier relationships, performance, risk, and governance activities• Analyze spend, market trends, and supplier capabilities to support strategic decision-making Qualifications• 5+ years of IT Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Technology Category Management experience• Experience managing large enterprise technology spend portfolios, ideally $50M+ annually• Experience negotiating software, SaaS, cloud, telecom, and technology services agreements• Strong contract negotiation experience, including MSA, SOW, licensing, professional services, and outsourcing agreements• Experience supporting global or multi-region sourcing initiatives• Strong understanding of technology supplier markets, pricing models, and contracting standards Preferred Backgrounds• IT Category Manager• Technology Category Manager• Strategic Sourcing Manager• IT Procurement Manager• Technology Procurement Manager• IT Sourcing Manager• Senior Category Manager• Global Category Manager Preferred Systems• Coupa• SAP Ariba• Service Now• Oracle• SAP• Workday• Salesforce This opportunity is ideal for someone who has successfully owned technology categories, negotiated complex vendor agreements, managed significant spend portfolios, and delivered measurable sourcing value within enterprise environments.
