About the role
Student Organization Assistant The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Center for Student Engagement & Leadership department on the Dahlonega campus. The Student Organization Assistants in the Center for Student Engagement and Leadership assist with day-to-day operations within the office and assist with event set-ups/breakdowns of student organizations. This position is often the first point of contact for patrons of the Building and supports student organizations and/or departmental events occurring in the evening and during weekends. Responsibilities: Serves as receptionist for the office by answering phones, greeting guests, and assisting patrons Provides clerical support for staff members in the department Serves as the point of contact for all evening and weekend shifts to assist with reservations, set-ups, and securing the building at the end of their shift Assists the Department with student organization reservations through the event management system and UNG Connect Ability to work with moderate supervision and demonstrate personal initiative Must be able to repeatedly lift and squat 25+ lbs. to set up and move event equipment like tables and chairs Knowledge of UNG Connect preferred Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills Required Qualifications: Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
