ACO, Inc. Fiberglass Assembly Position DescriptionFIBERGLASS ASSEMBLY POSITION SUMMARY:The Fiberglass Assembly will safely control various machines and equipment involved in production.
FIBERGLASS ASSEMBLY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipment Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces. Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance Sets up production machines following prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipment Chooses, aligns, and securely attaches holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and other materials on machines Applies knowledge of mathematics and instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances Identifies malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining; adjusts controls of machine to correct errors Inspects and measures completed production units to identify defects caused by machine setup Starts or restarts equipment after power outages or interruptions Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area Complies with Company policies and proceduresFIBERGLASS ASSEMBLY COMPETENCIES:Problem Solving Attention to Detail TeamworkTechnical CapacityFIBERGLASS ASSEMBLY REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalent required Associates degree OR completion of related apprenticeship program preferred At least one year of related experience required Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirementsFIBERGLASS ASSEMBLY ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to follow directions and work well in a team Must be able to read and use a tape measureinterpret and translate engineering designs and documentation Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Good communication skills relative to supervisor and other related departments must read and write in English to fill out daily reportsFIBERGLASS ASSEMBLY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping. Required regularly to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to squat, stand, stoop bend down, for long periods of time. Required to occasionally climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch; and talk or hear. Must be able to lift, push, pull a minimum of 75lbs and maximum of 100lbs. Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced. This position is designated as “safety sensitive” pursuant to A.R.S. Sections 23-493(9) and 23-493.06(7).)
