Summary: This is a 6-month contract role with a local authority, offering a rate of £38 per hour under an umbrella arrangement. The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate, schedule, and oversee Streetworks and highways activities. The role is crucial for ensuring that all works are efficiently planned, resources are adequately allocated, and activities comply with relevant Streetworks requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate with contractors, traffic management providers, site teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of work programmes, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring adherence to statutory obligations.
Responsibilities: Schedule and coordinate Streetworks and highways activities. Liaise with clients, contractors, traffic management companies, and internal departments. Coordinate work programmes to ensure resources, operatives, and equipment are available when required. Manage and monitor Streetworks permits, notices, and associated documentation. Ensure works are scheduled within agreed timescales and comply with relevant Streetworks requirements. Monitor planned and ongoing works, identifying delays, conflicts, or scheduling issues. Communicate schedule changes and keep all relevant stakeholders informed. Coordinate traffic management requirements and ensure arrangements are in place before works commence.
Requirements: Experience in scheduling, planning, or coordinating operational works. Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience liaising with contractors, clients, and operational teams. Experience maintaining accurate records and managing administrative processes. GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook. NRSWA/Streetworks qualification would be advantageous but is not essential. Relevant qualification in highways, construction, civil engineering, utilities, or business administration is desirable.
