Position Title: Electrical Estimator
Join a growing electrical contractor where estimating means more than putting numbers on a page. This Electrical Estimator will own complex bids from initial takeoff and budgeting through proposal development, addendums, scope meetings, and revisions, with a strong focus on mission-critical and healthcare projects. The ideal candidate brings hands-on electrical estimating experience, understands the complexity of active healthcare environments, and can manage competing deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or quality.
Salary Range: $115,000 - $180,000 / annually, DOEResponsibilitiesManage electrical estimates from initial takeoff through final bid submission for complex commercial, healthcare, and mission-critical projects Perform detailed takeoffs, develop material and labor pricing, establish project buys, and prepare comprehensive bid proposals Support front-end budgeting, design development, and preconstruction efforts in partnership with general contractors and construction managers Manage post-bid activity, including addendums, scope questions, clarification requests, scope meetings, and bid revisions Estimate projects commonly ranging from approximately $1M to $7M while balancing multiple active deadlines and shifting priorities Identify inconsistencies within plans and specifications, communicate questions, and participate in occasional project site walks when necessary For senior-level candidates, mentor estimators, strengthen estimating processes, and help drive continuous improvement across the department
Requirements: 4+ years of electrical estimating experience for junior-level consideration, or 5+ years for senior-level consideration Proven experience managing the full electrical estimating lifecycle, from takeoff and pricing through bid development and submission Strong knowledge of electrical terminology, construction documents, project scope, labor requirements, and material pricing Experience managing addendums, revisions, scope questions, and competing bid deadlines in a fast-moving environment Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and produce accurate, detailed estimates without extensive oversight Strong preference for experience estimating mission-critical, healthcare, hospital, post-acute care, MRI, or similarly complex electrical projects Senior-level candidates should demonstrate experience mentoring estimators, overseeing estimating activities, or improving departmental processes BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance Employer HSA contribution 401(k)/Roth plan with company match Paid time off, sick time, and paid holidays Employer-paid basic life and AD&D insurance, with voluntary life and disability coverage available Employee Assistance Program providing mental health, family, legal, financial, and wellness resources Potential hybrid flexibility of up to two remote days per week, based on team needs and collaboration requirements#LI-IR1 #LI-CC1
