Job Description: The Dock Associate plays a crucial role in our operations by helping ensure the efficient and accurate flow of goods through our warehouse. This position is primarily responsible for inbound receiving, outbound shipment preparation, inventory management, and general dock operations. Working as part of our warehouse team, the Dock Associate supports the receiving, storing, cycle counting, and shipping of products while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Location: Strongsville, OhioDaily Responsibilities
Inbound Receiving: Receive and inspect incoming freight for damages, shortages, overages, or other discrepancies. Verify received quantities against packing lists, purchase orders, and other documentation and accurately enter receiving information into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).Outbound Shipment Preparation: Prepare outbound shipments for scheduled carrier pickups, including organizing freight, verifying shipment information, and preparing Bills of Lading (BOLs) and other required shipping documentation. Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, stock checks, inventory reconciliations, and location verification. Utilize the WMS to accurately track inventory movement and storage locations. Loading & Unloading: Assist with loading and unloading incoming and outgoing freight while ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently. Warehouse Organization: Properly store, stage, and organize products and materials to maintain an efficient and orderly warehouse environment. Quality & Accuracy: Verify products, quantities, labels, and documentation throughout the receiving and shipping processes to help prevent inventory and fulfillment errors. Housekeeping & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Follow established safety procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged products, or equipment concerns. Special Projects: Collaborate with warehouse team members and leadership on special projects, including warehouse reorganizations, inventory projects, process improvements, and other operational initiatives. Team Support: Assist with other warehouse functions and operational needs as assigned to support daily workflow and overall business needs.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a warehouse, fulfillment center, distribution center, or similar environment is preferred but not required. Familiarity with warehouse receiving, shipping, and inventory procedures is preferred. Basic math skills and the ability to accurately count, verify, and record inventory. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality. Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment. Forklift experience is preferred. Comfortable using computers, scanners, warehouse management systems, and other electronic devices. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently when necessary. Willingness to work flexible hours or overtime as business needs require.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, push, and move boxes, products, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to spend extended periods standing and walking throughout the warehouse. Ability to frequently bend, reach, lift, and perform other physical activities associated with warehouse operations. Good manual dexterity for handling products, tools, equipment, scanners, and other warehouse materials. Ability to safely perform physical warehouse duties throughout the scheduled workday.
