Job Description Position Overview: We are seeking an Ergonomics Engineer General to support the plant ergonomics program at Michigan Assembly Plant. This role partners closely with production, engineering, safety, medical, labor, and plant leadership teams to identify ergonomic risks and implement solutions that improve employee well-being, workplace safety, and operational performance. The ideal candidate will have experience conducting ergonomic assessments, driving workplace improvements, and collaborating across multiple functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities: Perform ergonomic assessments and identify opportunities to reduce workplace risk factors. Evaluate and improve workstation designs, work methods, and production processes. Analyze injury trends, medical case data, and workplace risk factors to develop corrective actions. Support new product launches, process changes, and manufacturing improvements from an ergonomic perspective. Collaborate with production, engineering, safety, medical, and labor representatives to implement ergonomic solutions. Ensure compliance with company ergonomic standards and best practices. Develop and deliver ergonomics training and awareness programs for plant employees. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and employee wellness. Prepare reports, recommendations, and presentations based on ergonomic analysis and findings.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Ergonomics, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Human Factors, Kinesiology, Occupational Health, Safety, or a related field. Minimum of 1 year of experience in ergonomics, manufacturing, industrial engineering, safety, or a related technical area. Experience conducting ergonomic assessments and implementing workplace improvements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data analysis tools.
