About the role
Opportunity to lead the development and establishment of a new solar cell manufacturing facility as Project Manager / Senior Project Manager, based on experience. My client is a global leading solar PV company.
Location:
willing to relocate to Texas This role will be responsible for managing the entire factory build-out process, including permitting, construction, equipment installation, and operational readiness. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the facility is delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. Following factory start-up, the role will also oversee operational management and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, development, and construction of a new solar cell manufacturing facility. Manage all project phases, from site selection and permitting through construction, commissioning, and production ramp-up. Coordinate and oversee permit applications and regulatory approvals with local, state, and federal authorities. Work closely with engineering, construction, equipment suppliers, and operational teams to ensure successful project execution. Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, risks, and resource plans. Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions when necessary. Establish operational processes, procedures, and best practices for factory operations. Support recruitment and development of key manufacturing and operational personnel. Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality standards. Provide regular progress reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience leading the construction and commissioning of a manufacturing facility from the ground up. Strong knowledge of permitting, regulatory compliance, and industrial construction processes. Demonstrated experience managing large capital projects and cross-functional teams. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience building and launching a solar cell manufacturing facility is highly preferred. Experience within the solar, semiconductor, battery, or advanced manufacturing industries. PMP certification or equivalent project management qualification. Experience with factory operations and production ramp-up after facility commissioning.
