About the role
Sr. Histotechnologist Healthier Communities. Healthiest Lives. Together. Responsible for accurate routine and stat tissue processing, including embedment, microtomy, mounting, staining and labeling. Performs routine and special histology processing including advanced histochemical and immunohistochemical testing. Offers guidance to Histotechnicians, Histotechnologists, and support staff in routine technical areas and serves as a resource person. Recognizes and troubleshoots procedural, instrument, and quality control problems and notifies Charge Histotechnologist, R&D tech or Supervisor. Follows guidelines to correct problems or errors. The Sr. Histotechnologist is required to have their bachelor's degree in an appropriate science field along with their HTL certification. Qualification in Immunohistochemistry (QIHC) is preferred but not required. Three years in a Histology Laboratory similar to UVM Medical Center
