About the role
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and facilityequipment during overnight operations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, PIDs, and mechanical drawings.
- Troubleshoot and repair motor control systems, including relays, contactors, and variablefrequency drives (VFDs).
- Apply advanced knowledge of common electrical circuits to diagnose and resolve equipmentissues.
- Install, wire, and test control panels and electrical components in accordance with NEC and localcodes.
- Diagnose mechanical issues involving bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, hydraulics, andpneumatics.
- Support basic automation tasks, including troubleshooting sensors, limit switches, and PLC I/O, and adjusting drive parameters.
- Fabricate or repair parts as needed using shop equipment, including lathes, mills, and weldingequipment.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize overnight production downtime.
- Modify equipment and assist with new equipment installations.
- Document repairs, maintain accurate maintenance logs, and communicate open issues to theday shift.
- Follow all lockout/tagout (LOTO), safety, and OSHA procedures. Education/Background/Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required. An associate degree in electrical or mechanicaltechnology, industrial maintenance, or mechatronics—or trade-school certification as anelectronics technician—is preferred.
- Three or more years of experience as an electrical, mechanical, or maintenance technician in anindustrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating lathes and mills is preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs, along with 480-volt, three-phase systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams and use them to diagnose motorcontrol circuits and basic automation components.
- Working knowledge of relays, contactors, motor starters, and VFDs.
- Basic understanding of automation and control systems; familiarity with PLCs is a plus.
- Proficiency with multimeters, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during night hours.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and remain on your feet for extended periods.
