This role can work out of our office in Sacramento or Canoga Park, CA. This role has responsibility for various Program Cost Accounting functions of the divisions within the Segment, which primarily include project cost analysis, accounting for inventory, analysis of work-order variances and updating average costs, among other responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and analytical skills, combined with a strong technical accounting background.Essential Functions:Performs project cost analysis, prepares cost metrics, analysis of work-order variances including updating average costs as neededResponsible for posting cost entries to general ledger accounts and for the preparation of complex account reconciliations and analysis including project inventory costs and closing inventory sub-ledgersCompletion of quarterly inventory net realizable value (NRV) assessments for both contract and non-contract inventoryPreparation of program-related monthly and quarterly Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) schedulesProactively identify opportunities for process improvementsPreparation of ad-hoc reporting and assistance with special projects, as requestedSupport audits (External Audit, Internal Audit, and SOX and Self Evaluation Testing)Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.Preferred Additional Skills:2 years experience with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements2 years experience in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in a fast-paced close process with multiple, often competing, deadlines2 years experience with facilitating internal and external auditsCertified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)Experience with ERP System (preferably Oracle)Experience with HFMProficient in Microsoft ExcelExceptional organizational skills, enabling monitoring of key due dates and activitiesFlexible planner in terms of daily activities with ability to adapt to changing requirements and prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong customer service approach, self-directed, assertive, with a positive attitudeAbility to develop broad, cooperative relationships with numerous groups and individualsIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $73,000 - $135,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
