About the role

HVAC Service Technician New York, NY$50–$65/hour + benefits Allegiance Group are partnered with a leading mechanical contractor who are looking for an experienced HVAC service technician to join their team. They work on commercial and apartment/condominium properties across New York City’s five boroughs.
Key Responsibilities: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems and equipment. Perform scheduled maintenance and service calls in commercial and residential buildings. Identify equipment issues and recommend practical repair or replacement options. Test systems after service to confirm safe, reliable operation. Keep clear records of work completed, materials used, and any follow-up needed. Communicate professionally with property managers, residents, clients, and team members. Follow applicable safety practices and building requirements.
Requirements: At least 5 years of hands-on HVAC service experience. Experience servicing commercial buildings and apartments or condominiums. Strong diagnostic, repair, and preventative maintenance skills. Ability to work independently, manage service calls, and prioritize tasks. Clear communication and dependable customer service. Valid driver’s license and required certifications or licenses for the work. What You Should Have: Practical knowledge of HVAC equipment, controls, and related systems. Your own essential hand tools and the ability to use service tools safely. A reliable, professional approach and attention to detail. Flexibility to travel to job sites throughout the five boroughs. Physical ability to perform field work, including lifting equipment and working in mechanical rooms.
