Entry-Level Civil/Environmental EngineerKERAMIDA is seeking an entry-level Civil/Environmental Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This opening focuses on grading plans, erosion and sediment control (E&S) plans, and NPDES permitting. We’re looking for a motivated individual with strong technical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a desire to make a lasting impact on the communities where our clients operate.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare grading, drainage, and E&S plans for pipeline and transmission line rights-of-way, energy facilities, and commercial and industrial sites. Prepare Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), NPDES permit applications, Notices of Intent (NOIs), and supporting documentation. Ensure all plans and permit documents adhere to applicable policies, industry standards, and federal, state, and local regulations. Coordinate with regulatory agencies, soil and water conservation districts, and utility clients through plan review and permit approval. Collaborate with survey, construction, and environmental staff to keep projects on schedule and in compliance. Qualifications and
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. EIT certification (preferred), or in progress. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites, including remote right-of-way locations, as needed.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and hydrologic/hydraulic software (e.g., HydroCAD, TR-55), or similar tools. Willingness and ability to learn and apply the Clean Water Act, NPDES regulations, and state construction stormwater general permits. Ability to apply state and local E&S handbooks and stormwater design manuals to plans and permit documents.
Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational and time management skills, including tracking permit deadlines. Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work collaboratively within a team.
