Position Overview: The Investment Strategist serves as the central investment point person for one of the firm's largest, high-touch advisory practices, reporting directly to the Chief Investment Platform Officer. This pivotal role sits at the intersection of client-facing investment guidance, portfolio strategy, and rigorous market research. The successful candidate will utilize sharp investment judgment and deep portfolio management expertise to translate sophisticated investment theories, market developments, and portfolio transactions into clear, actionable insights that clients and advisors can act on with total confidence. By bridging the gap between complex economic concepts and real-world client portfolios, this position will directly influence client outcomes and help actively shape our rapidly growing, entrepreneurial RIA investment platform.
Key Responsibilities: Practice Investment Lead: Serve as the dedicated investment point person for a large, high-touch advisory practice, ensuring client portfolio needs are met with exceptional speed and accuracy. Client & Advisor Communication: Distill complex portfolio transactions, market developments, and sophisticated investment theories into clear, engaging, and actionable guidance for clients and advisors. Portfolio Monitoring: Continuously evaluate client portfolios, the broader markets, and the evolving investment marketplace to proactively identify opportunities to optimize and improve client outcomes. Manager Research: Conduct comprehensive manager research across all asset classes in both public and private investment universes as demanded by client and business needs. Committee Presentation: Synthesize research findings and present institutional-quality investment recommendations to the One Point Investment Committee. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal stakeholders across the investments, advisory, wealth planning, and operations teams to execute seamless investment workflows. Brand Ambassadorship: Engage regularly in current and prospective client conversations, serving as a trusted ambassador for the firm’s fiduciary investment philosophy and process.
Qualifications
Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of asset management industry experience in client-facing investment roles, ideally within the private wealth channel, with a proven track record of building trusted relationships.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred; an advanced degree is considered a strong plus. Professional Credentials: CFA designation, or active progress toward a CFA, is highly desired; CAIA, FRM, or CIMA designations are also favorable. Technical Domain Expertise: Strong command of asset allocation, portfolio management, investment implementation, trading, and ongoing portfolio oversight across both public and private investments. Workflow Proficiency: Solid working knowledge of relevant investment technology stacks and the ability to rapidly adopt new digital tools and financial platforms. Desired Skills and
