About the role

Job Description
About Rivertowne Family Dentistry: Rivertowne Family Dentistry is an established four-operatory general dentistry practice on Highway 41 in Mount Pleasant. We have a loyal patient base, a hygiene schedule booked months out, and a small, close team. Our longtime office manager is retiring, and we are hiring her successor to run the business side of the practice so the clinical team can focus on patients. You will have a planned handoff period with her to learn the office.
The role: You will own the front office and the numbers: the schedule, insurance, collections, the team, and the patient experience. You will report directly to the owner and have real input into how the office runs, including the systems and technology we use to grow. What you’ll doScheduling: Rebuild doctor and hygiene schedules around production goals and open protected time for new patients. Recall: Run recall and reactivation for overdue patients and track the results. Insurance and billing: Verify benefits, submit claims, post payments, work denials and aging A/R, and keep PPO fee schedules current. Financial: Close out each day, reconcile deposits to collections, manage patient financial arrangements, and coordinate with our outside bookkeeper and CPA.Reporting: Track production, collections, new patients, case acceptance, and hygiene reappointment, and review them with the owner monthly. Compliance: Keep OSHA, HIPAA, and SC Board of Dentistry requirements current, including training records and license and CE tracking. Operations: Manage vendors, supplies, equipment service, and the office’s software and patient communication tools. Patients: Cover the front desk when needed, present treatment costs and payment options, and resolve patient concerns.
What we’re looking for:
  • 3+ years of dental office experience, including at least 1 year managing an office or leading a front desk
  • Strong working knowledge of dental insurance: benefits verification, CDT codes, EOBs, PPO write-offs, and A/R follow-upEaglesoft experience preferred (Dentrix or Open Dental also considered)
  • Comfortable with numbers and spreadsheets; QuickBooks experience a plus
  • Organized, steady under pressure, and direct: you raise problems early and come with a fix
  • Interested in new tools (online booking, automated reminders, AI-assisted workflows) and able to get a team to adopt them
Pay and benefits:
  • $55,000 to $70,000, depending on experience
  • Quarterly bonus opportunities
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Complimentary dental care [for you and immediate family]Weekday daytime hours, no nights or weekends

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
