About the role
Proposal: Digital Services Manager Position Inventory and ownership: maintain the County’s inventory of websites, domains, vendors and contracts, and hold the County’s domain registrar accounts. Accessibility compliance: serve as the County’s web accessibility contact, manage accessibility statements and requests for accessible versions, and run scheduled testing. Standards and training: keep the editor guide current, train department editors, and review content before it is published. Vendor oversight: write accessibility requirements into contracts, review vendors’ accessibility conformance reports, and track their fixes. Platform ownership: administer the main County website platform, whether Granicus or its replacement, and lead the migration. Long-term planning: consolidate sites where it makes sense, and advise on new web projects, such as the Health Department’s MILS replacement, before launch. Skills and experience to look for (draft)Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA and accessibility testing, including screen readers and automated tools. Experience administering a web content management system and managing website vendors. Understanding of domains, DNS and hosting, enough to manage registrar accounts and work with ISD on security. Ability to write clear standards and train non-technical staff. Project management experience, ideally including a website migration.
