About the role

Are you a Product Designer who would rather ship in code than throw a Figma file over the wall? Do you want to own design end to end as a Product Designer at a high-growth startup, not just feed someone else's backlog? Are you excited by delivering consumer-grade UX to a domain starved of great design? This is a role for a Product Designer who thinks in systems and treats the working prototype as the product, not the spec. If you're a Product Designer who could moonlight as a Design Engineer, or a Senior Product Designer ready to own craft at a high-growth startup, please read on. This Andreessen Horowitz funded startup is a fast-growing, AI-driven cybersecurity company that has already landed major government and Fortune 500 customers. The team is small, technical, and operates close to the mission, with decisions made by the people doing the work, reporting to an ex-Palantir Product Leader. What You Will Own Own design end to end across the platform, from the problem to the shipped result Make systems-level component and interaction decisions that shape the platform Translate customer and mission signal into platform-level design direction Deliver pixel-perfect work directly in the codebase, not just to handoffThis role is a strong fit for Product Designers who think like Design Engineers, already prototyping in code and using AI coding tools as part of their daily workflow.

Designed and shipped B2B product experiences with clear decision ownership Built front-end prototypes in code, with active, regular use of AI coding tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or Claude DesignA systems thinker who designs for reuse and platform consistency, not one-off screens Portfolio that shows the problem, the decision, and the reasoning, not just the visual output High craft bar paired with genuine hunger for hard, ambiguous problems Comfortable operating in a government and defense context with minimal process and high ambiguity Be on-site with a team (4 days/week - NYC or DC)Plus Skills Prior experience as a first or early design hire Ability to step into a PM hat and lead cross-functional projects when needed What You'll Get Competitive Comp Package: Base + Equity (meaningful upside in a funded, high-growth startup)100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision for you and your dependents High ownership and direct mission context on a small, senior team If this lines up with where you want to take your design career, apply to learn more about the role and the team.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
