Job Summary: East Tennessee State University, Quillen College of Medicine (ETSU QCOM), Department of Medical Education, invites applications from community physicians who are retired or have availability and a passion for teaching. This part-time opportunity supports the education of medical students in pre-clinical and/or clinical settings.
Responsibilities Include: Facilitate small-group or large-group teaching sessions within the pre-clinical or clinical curriculum Engage learners using active learning strategies and case-based instruction Provide clinical context and real-world application of foundational science concepts Participate in student assessment activities (e.g., formative feedback, OSCEs, or case discussions) Collaborate with course directors and faculty to align teaching with learning objectives Serve as a professional role model and mentor for medical students Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to teach and engage learners at varying levels of training Familiarity with or willingness to adopt active learning and team-based learning approaches Commitment to medical education and student development Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary educational team
Required Qualifications: Applicants must have:
MD or DO degree with active or prior clinical practice experience
