You must have a MAVworks financial aid award to work at the library. CMU’s Tomlinson Library has Work Study/Mav Works positions open to staff the Research Help Desk to help provide friendly, knowledgeable research assistance including (but subject to modification):* Greeting all patrons who approach the Research Help Desk.* Answering basic questions regarding library and university (e.g., directional questions).* Providing support to patrons having difficulty finding items in the building.* Referring patrons or questions to Librarian on duty as needed.* Helping with hourly patron counts and other building walk-throughs.* Staffing our virtual reference (chat) service (referring questions to Librarians as needed).* Assisting with Interlibrary Loan processes as needed.* Assisting librarians with events as needed* Other duties as assigned. We are currently looking to fill in various times during the weekdays between 8am-9pm and on Saturdays 10am-5pm and Sunday 1pm-9pm.
