Job DescriptionJob Title: I&C Design Engineer Location: Bellevue, WA Type: Contract Compensation: $69.00 - $115.00 per hour Work Model: Onsite – onsiteResponsibilities:Provide system design, prototype development and testing, plant level system integration, and commissioning for Sodium Fast Reactor technologiesInterface with a team of scientists and engineers, supporting geographically diverse and international design team membersDevelop and review system- and component-level specifications and scopes of workPerform engineering and design evaluations in compliance with nuclear codes, standards, licensing requirements, and NRC regulationsSpecify instrumentation measurement techniques, analyzing measurement range, response time, and accuracyDevelop and review technical design documents including System Requirements, System Design Descriptions, Interface Control Documents, and Engineering Design SpecificationsCreate and manage system and component drawing packages such as P&IDs, control system architecture, control logic diagrams, and instrument installation drawingsCoordinate with suppliers, oversee technical reviews, and ensure delivery of data and deliverables aligned with project requirementsSupport licensing activities related to Safety Analysis ReportsAssist in project planning, analyzing design changes, and applying change control principlesLead or support design of I&C and supporting electrical systems from requirements through final designRequirementsB.S. or higher in Controls, Electrical, or related discipline from an accredited university10+ years of direct experience with instrumentation and controls systems design and developmentProven skills in diagnostics, industrial I&C platforms, and data reportingExperience with nuclear reactor safety systems and instrumentation design (desired but not required)Familiarity with IEEE and IEC standards (desired)Knowledge of nuclear quality assurance standards such as 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and ASME NQA-1Experience designing for high-temperature processes (desired)Ability to handle multiple projects with conflicting objectives and resolve conflicts efficientlyExperience with process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping & instrument diagrams (P&ID) (desired)Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks (desired)Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skillsSelf-starter with leadership ability to coordinate and lead design efforts with minimal supervisionCapable of working on multiple tasks requiring a multidisciplinary approachExperience with I&C system startup testing procedures (desired)High degree of integrity, open communication, and teamwork orientationSystem One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
