Job Description: A well-established manufacturing company in Kings Mountain, NC is seeking a Waste Handler to support its production and warehouse operations. In this role, you will bale and process various types of manufacturing waste, weigh and label materials, and prepare materials for storage or reprocessing. You will also operate material-handling equipment and maintain a safe, organized work area. Candidates will train on 1st shift before transitioning to the regular 3rd-shift schedule.
Responsibilities: Operate baling equipment to compress, tie, weigh, label, and stage waste materials. Sort and handle waste materials, including reworkable fiber and plastic, according to established procedures. Operate lift-truck equipment to move bales and assist with staging materials. 10% of job duty. Prepare baling equipment for each load and follow required lockout, PPE, and safe-operating procedures. Maintain accurate bale identification and inventory information while assisting warehouse and production operations as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements: Ability to read and follow job instructions. High school diploma or GED preferred. Ability to stand approximately 7 to 7.5 hours during the shift and work on a concrete floor. Ability to lift bags of fiber weighing up to 25 pounds and perform bending, reaching, climbing, and material-moving duties. Must be able to distinguish color variations and identify quality defects. Must follow required safety procedures and use hearing protection, eye protection, gloves, and lockout equipment. Must be available to train on 1st shift, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, before moving to 3rd shift, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
