About the role

AI Biologists | Multiple Openings | AI x Biology Scale-up | West Coast (remote considered) Want to teach AI how to do science? We’re partnering with one of the fastest-growing companies at the intersection of AI and biology. They build AI agents and benchmarks for biological research, already used by the world’s leading frontier AI labs and a community of over 100,000 scientists. Headcount has grown roughly tenfold this year, and they’re now hiring a large cohort of AI Biologists before the end of Q4. This is a rare moment: your work here will shape how the most advanced AI models reason about biology.
The role: You’ll turn your hands-on scientific expertise into ground truth. Working alongside software engineers and fellow scientists, you’ll build benchmark datasets from real discovery and research programmes that test whether AI agents can make the decisions a skilled scientist would. Where do they get it right, where do they fail, and why? Teams are hiring across: Biologics and antibody/protein engineering Oligonucleotide and RNA therapeutics Protein function and design Human genetics and variant analysis Metagenomics and microbiome Biosecurity and dual-use risk What they’re looking for MSc or PhD in biology, bioinformatics, genetics, microbiology or a related field 2 to 5+ years of hands-on research or industry experience in one of the areas above Confident in Python and/or R for data analysis High agency: you like owning problems end to end and moving fast

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
