About the role

We are working with a leading credit hedge fund that have a well established direct lending strategy. The team are looking for an Associate with c.3 years of experience to join.
Candidate Responsibilities: Underwrite middle-market direct lending opportunities, assessing business quality, cash flow, leverage, and downside risk. Build and review financial models, including operating forecasts, debt capacity, sensitivities, and returns analysis. Conduct company, industry, management, and sponsor due diligence and develop clear investment recommendations. Prepare investment memoranda and support transaction execution, including structuring, documentation, and Investment Committee materials. Monitor portfolio companies, track financial performance and covenant compliance, and support ongoing portfolio management.
Key Requirements: 2–5 years of experience in private credit, leveraged finance, investment banking, or a related investment role. Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with a solid understanding of financial statements and credit analysis. Experience with leveraged, sponsor-backed, or middle-market transactions preferred. Strong understanding of debt structures, covenants, credit documentation, and downside protection. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, commercial judgment, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced investment environment.
