Competitive California, United States Semiconductor Permanent Application Engineer Our client designs, develops and globally supplies a broad range of power semiconductors, including a wide portfolio of Power MOSFET, IGBT, IPM, TVS, GaN/SiC, Power IC and Digital Power products. They offer an impressive benefit package and career development opportunities. This position will work with cross functional teams for 800V HVDC power module design. Must have knowledge of power electronics, Si/wide band gap device field, hands-on development experience in prototype build for HV 500kHz–1MHz DC/DC converters.
Primary Job Duties:
Circuit and module design: Designing and developing power electronic modules for 800V HVDC applications, covering schematic capture and PCB layout.
System integration: Collaborating with other engineering teams to ensure the power module meets performance, thermal management, and cost requirements.
Component selection: Choosing appropriate components for high-voltage circuits, considering factors like efficiency, reliability, and cost.
Testing and validation: Performing tests and troubleshooting to ensure the power module functions as designed and meets all specifications.
Qualifications:
- M.S (Ph. D preferred) in Electrical Engineering
- Knowledgeable in power conversion topologies, power device, magnetics and control loop design
- Lab skills in using oscilloscope, function generators and test equipment
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink, SIMetrix, Pspice/Ltspice, Ansys simulation
- Good communication skills
