Description: Mechanical One is seeking an onsite detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Analyst to join our team. The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for accurately processing payroll transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations, and providing valuable insights through data analysis. Proficiency in Excel and pivot tables is essential for this role.
Responsibilities: Process weekly payroll transactions accurately and in a timely manner. Verify accuracy of timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations. Prepare payroll reports for management review. Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to resolve payroll-related issues. Utilize Excel and pivot tables to analyze payroll data and identify trends. Maintain payroll records and files in accordance with company policies. Assist in year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing. Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations.
Requirements: Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field is a plus. Proven experience as a Payroll Analyst or similar role. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and pivot tables. Strong understanding of payroll principles and regulations. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Emotional intelligence. Experience with payroll software (e.g., Paylocity) is a plus.
