Director of Food & Beverage | Des Moines, IA | $90,000 to $105,000 + incentive
A 145-room boutique hotel in a restored historic building, part of a respected lifestyle hotel company, is seeking a Director of Food and Beverage to lead the complete F&B experience. As a member of the Executive Committee, you'll shape the restaurant and bar experience, banquets and catering, in-room dining, and the wine, spirits, and cocktail program, with real influence over product, service culture, and financial performance. The senior F&B team is being rebuilt, creating an opportunity to establish standards and build a close partnership with culinary leadership.
What You'll Do:
Lead restaurant service, bar operations, banquets, catering, weddings, and private events
Shape the wine, spirits, and craft cocktail program
Own budgeting, forecasting, labor, product costs, inventory, and profitability
Hire, develop, and hold managers accountable
Collaborate with chefs, sales leaders, hotel executives, and corporate partners
Serve as a senior property leader on the Executive Committee
What You'll Need:
Leadership experience in an elevated, modern restaurant, bar, lifestyle hotel, luxury property, resort, or sophisticated multi-outlet operation
Credibility across restaurant service, banquets, catering, weddings, and private events
Strong beverage knowledge, including wine, spirits, and craft cocktails
Financial command of budgeting, forecasting, labor, product costs, inventory, and profitability
Experience hiring, developing, and holding managers accountable
Nice to Have:
Experience at a luxury or design-forward independent hotel property
Track record of building or rebuilding a senior F&B team
Interest in growing toward GM, corporate, or VP-level responsibility
Compensation and Benefits:
$90,000 to $105,000 base salary plus Executive Committee incentive up to 20%, relocation assistance may be available, medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k, and paid time off.
