About the role

Nearly Human is hiring its first sales team member to help turn existing DoD traction into repeatable federal revenue. This is a hands-on, founder-led sales role for someone who wants to grow into federal sales leadership as the company scales.
What you’ll do: Work directly with the CEO on federal/DoD opportunities. Research and map target accounts, commands, programs, and stakeholders. Run outbound and follow-up to generate qualified meetings. Maintain CRM discipline and weekly pipeline tracking. Support discovery, meeting prep, proposals, quotes, and procurement next steps. Coordinate with BD partners, primes, and federal stakeholders. Gradually own smaller opportunities from prospecting through close. What you are not expected to do on day one: Bring a full book of federal business by yourself. Replace founder-led selling immediately. Already know every DoD contract vehicle. Manage a sales team.
Who you are: 2–6 years in B2B sales, BD, federal sales, govtech, defense tech, SaaS, or consulting. Highly organized and persistent. Strong writer and communicator. Comfortable with ambiguity and direct founder coaching. Interested in DoD, AI, software, and mission-focused work.
Compensation: $85K–$110K base, $130K–$170K OTE, equity, remote role, with compensation review as federal revenue scales. To apply, please send and email with your resume and a brief background to lauren.truett@nearlyhuman-gs.com

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
