About the role

Pet Sitters Wanted – Join Our Premium Team in NYCAt PKPet Sitters, we are a passionate team dedicated to premium pet care and animal well-being. Paula is a veterinarian, and Kristo is a professional pet photographer. Together, we have built a premium pet care company based in New York City, offering personalized, reliable, and loving services. Our goal is to make both pets and their families feel comfortable and at ease, knowing they are in safe and caring hands. Who We’re Looking For We are primarily looking for people who already work or study remotely and want to add a flexible second job caring for pets. This opportunity is ideal for professionals in other industries—for example, lawyers, designers, professionals in marketing, sales, finance, technology, customer service, artists, freelancers, online students, etc.—who can bring their workspace with them and continue their regular activities from a client’s home, our Bushwick space, or, when possible, their own home while caring for a pet. It is essential that your remote work provides enough flexibility to take breaks throughout the day, follow the pet’s care schedule, attend to their needs, spend time with them, and give them the love and attention they need. Professional pet-sitting experience is not required. We are looking for people who love animals, have had pets of their own or have basic experience caring for dogs or cats, and most importantly, are willing to learn and follow the PKPet Sitters methodology. We provide the necessary training. Our main service is Overnight Pet Sitting at the client’s home, especially when our clients travel. These services can last several consecutive nights, so we are looking for people who can bring their remote work with them and continue their regular activities from the client’s home during the stay.
Requirements: Live in New York City. Be authorized to work in the United States. Work or study primarily remotely, with enough flexibility to attend to the pet’s needs throughout the day. Be interested in a flexible second job that complements your primary work or studies. Be able to bring your remote work to a client’s home, our Bushwick space, or, when possible, your own home. Be available for Overnight Pet Sitting, including stays lasting several consecutive nights. Have owned pets or have basic experience caring for dogs and/or cats. Be willing to learn and follow PKPet Sitters’ methodology and protocols. Be responsible, reliable, empathetic, and committed to animal well-being. Have excellent communication and customer service skills. Have flexible availability, especially on some weekends, holidays, and vacation periods. Have a safe and suitable environment if you would like to offer boarding in your own home. Knowledge of animal behavior or pet first aid is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities: Care for dogs and cats at the client’s home, our Bushwick space, or, when applicable, your own home. Maintain each pet’s regular routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, companionship, and affection. Organize your remote work so you can take the necessary breaks and follow the pet’s care schedule throughout the day. Administer medication when necessary, following the provided instructions. Pay close attention to each pet’s physical and emotional well-being. Maintain warm, engaging, and consistent communication with both clients and PKPet Sitters, regularly sending photos, videos, and updates. Follow agreed schedules, commitments, safety protocols, and the PKPet Sitters methodology. Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for the pets. How It Works We work under a freelance contract. This opportunity is designed as a flexible second job that you can combine with your profession, remote work, or studies. Services are offered based on our clients’ bookings and each team member’s availability. For this reason, initially, we cannot guarantee a fixed number of services or hours per week. We are currently in a growth stage and want to first build a small, solid, and reliable team so we can continue expanding our client base. Everyone who joins our team receives training in our work methodology, including pet care, client communication, photo and video updates, safety, and internal procedures. We also provide ongoing support and guidance during services, especially throughout the onboarding process and your first assignments. If you work remotely, love animals, are eager to learn, and are looking for a flexible second job that you can combine with your career, we’d love to meet you. Join PKPet Sitters and grow with a team that truly cares about pets.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
