The Junior Art Director produces Assouline’s printed and physical brand materials across channels. This role takes creative direction and image standards that have already been approved and brings them to life in tangible form, giving printed and physical materials the same level of craft and consistency that Assouline brings to its books.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare print-ready files meeting technical specifications, color accuracy and material requirements for each vendor and production method. Source materials, review proofs and coordinate press checks with external vendors and printers to ensure finished work matches brand standard. Build coherent physical asset families across launches, Maison moments and campaigns, and adapt book, editorial, campaign or digital assets for print and physical use while preserving visual consistency and usage rights. Maintain organized production files, specifications and vendor documentation, and collaborate closely with the Image Studio Director, the Art Director and the Designer, Digital Marketing to keep physical and digital expressions coherent. Produce retail graphics, window treatments and in-store signage that carry approved visual territories into physical retail environments. Develop printed materials for launches, Maison moments and trade initiatives, keeping every piece aligned to Assouline’s visual standards. QUALIFICATIONS4+ years of experience in print design, production design or creative studio environments. Strong portfolio demonstrating creative sensitivity, visual judgment, typography, materiality and multi-format print execution. Experience working with image-led, editorial, cultural, luxury, design, fashion or premium lifestyle brands, where visual consistency and taste are essential. Excellent command of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Strong understanding of print production, file preparation, vendor requirements and material constraints. Comfortable managing vendor relationships and production timelines from concept through delivery. Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage several production requests at once with precision and agility. This role is based in our NYC office 5 days a week.
