The Grant Writer And CoordinatorMaria Droste Counseling CenterDenver MetroNonprofit, Part-time, Development, $34 - $38 per hourThe Grant Writer And Coordinator is a part time role based on-site in Denver, CO. This position is responsible for drafting grant applications and reports, maintaining the grant calendar and deadlines, coordinating information gathering across departments, managing a calendar of deadlines for applications and reports, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements. Day-to-day tasks include drafting and editing grant proposals, coordinating required documentation, and ensuring compliance with funder guidelines. The role works closely with the Director Of Development and program staff to translate organizational impact, outcomes, and client stories into persuasive funding proposals.The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, highly organized, deadline-driven, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and passionate about our mission to expand access to exceptional mental health care for all in the community.Duties And ResponsibilitiesDraft, edit, and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting materials.Develop compelling narratives that clearly communicate community need, program impact, and organizational effectiveness.Tailor proposals to align with individual funder priorities, requirements, and guidelines.Maintain and update organizational language, program descriptions, statistics, and supporting materials.Collaborate with clinical, program, finance, and leadership staff to gather information needed for applications.Grant Reporting & ComplianceCoordinate preparation and submission of grant reports.Monitor grant requirements and assist in ensuring organizational compliance with award conditions.Maintain organized grant files and documentation.Grant Administration & Project CoordinationHelp manage the organization's grant calendar and submission schedule.Track grant applications, awards, reporting requirements, and deadlines.Prepare grant status updates and pipeline reports for leadership using Grant Frog software.Maintain accurate records of submissions, awards, and funder communications.Assist with grant prospect research as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsStrong grant writing and proposal writing skills for clear, compelling, and mission-aligned funding requests.Grant administration skills to track deadlines and manage grant requirements.Outstanding organizational skills and attention to deadlines and details.Excellent written communication, editing, and attention to detail skills.Ability to work collaboratively with program and leadership staff and to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Strong editing and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail with strong ability to craft compelling narratives that clearly communicate community need, program impact, and organizational effectiveness.Previous experience in nonprofit grant writing or development, particularly in mental health or social services, is highly beneficial.A bachelor's degree in a related field (such as Communications, English, Public Administration, or Nonprofit Management) or equivalent work experience is preferred.Position Compensation And Work EnvironmentThis is a part-time, hybrid position working approximately 20–25 hours per week, with weekly in-person work at MDCC's Denver office strongly preferred. Compensation is $34–$38 per hour, commensurate with experience.
