NP/PA Responsibilities Obtain patient medical history Measure/record physiologic and growth indices Apply health promotion principles and techniques Provides acute and chronic patient care including physicals, monitoring therapies, injections, minor office surgical procedures, and prescribing medications Triage all patient calls and take appropriate action Respond to medical emergencies by taking appropriate action Practice in a manner that effectively maintains patient confidentiality Review labs, diagnostic studies, and physical therapy progress notes Accurately and completely record all pertinent information in the patient's medical recordNP/PA Qualifications Graduate degree as a Physician's Assistant Current state license Current Controlled Dangerous Substances Permit or the ability to obtain one Current DEA License or the ability to obtain one Current BLS/ACLS registration Able to stand, walk or sit for an extended period of time Abie to help transfer patients Work effectively in a fast-paced environment Use problem-solving and critical thinking skills Use interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with others in and outside of work Must have basic computer skills Must have knowledge of basic principles of Continuous Quality Improvement. Must be versatile with the ability to perform a wide variety of duties, tasks and assignments Considerable knowledge of grammar, punctuation, spelling and arithmetic Ability to work under minimal supervision Must be willing to travel
