Piston Engine Technician
About the Opportunity:
Join our team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and play a critical role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and performance of piston engines used in general aviation. We are seeking an experienced aviation professional with a strong background in piston engine assembly, a commitment to quality, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, inspect, assemble, and perform maintenance on piston engines in accordance with applicable regulations, manufacturer instructions, and company policies. Complete maintenance records, forms, and required documentation accurately and consistently. Follow all company policies and environmental, health, and safety procedures. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Safely operate machinery, forklifts, and other equipment as required. Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 85 pounds, standing, stooping, kneeling, and walking. Work effectively in changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels. Maintain a full-time Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Requirements:
Powerplant (P) Certificate preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in piston engine assembly. Extensive experience with Textron Lycoming and Continental Motors engines. Long-term experience with the same employer is preferred. Strong knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and applicable manufacturer overhaul and parts manuals. Must have the tools required to perform the job. Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively. Strong customer service and service-oriented mindset. Ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to pass a background check and Drug and Alcohol test.
