Job Summary: We are seeking a dependable Records Warehouse Associate for a temporary records digitization project in Columbia, SC. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on, physical work in a records, warehouse, inventory, or file organization environment. This is not a traditional office or scanning-only position. The Records Warehouse Associate will help organize, classify, move, and prepare large volumes of records for digitization and secure disposition. The work takes place within a secure facility and requires attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to stay productive with limited supervision. This opportunity offers a steady Monday through Friday schedule, a structured work environment, and the chance to contribute to an important records modernization project. Candidates who are reliable, organized, and comfortable with physical work throughout the day can be successful in this role.
Key Responsibilities: Sort, classify, alphabetize, label, box, rebox, and organize agency records. Review files to identify record type and determine applicable retention classification. Move and transport boxes of records weighing up to 40 lbs. using proper lifting practices and hand trucks or dollies. Work within storage rooms, warehouse-style areas, and tight spaces between file cabinets. Prepare records for off-site digitization, scanning support, and shredding as directed. Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive youth and agency records.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay: $17.00 per hour.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.Includes 1 hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks. Assignment length: Temporary project anticipated through at least December 2026, potentially January 2027.
