Location:
New York, NY (on-site)Arco is partnered with a specialist private investment firm focused on opportunities at the intersection of infrastructure and technology. The firm invests in businesses and assets where technological innovation, digitization, and new business models are reshaping essential infrastructure markets. The strategy spans energy and power, digital infrastructure, industrial technology, mobility, and other technology-enabled infrastructure markets. Investments range from technology-enabled and asset-light businesses serving infrastructure markets through to capital-intensive businesses developing and scaling physical infrastructure. The firm operates with a tight-knit, entrepreneurial investment team and is looking for an experienced investor who combines rigorous infrastructure underwriting and transaction execution capabilities with a genuine interest in technology, innovation, and emerging business models.
About the role:
This is a senior investment role working directly with the firm's leadership across the full investment lifecycle. The Director will take significant responsibility for identifying and evaluating new opportunities, developing investment theses, leading underwriting and transaction execution, and working with portfolio company management teams following investment. The mandate extends beyond conventional infrastructure investing and requires someone comfortable evaluating opportunities where physical infrastructure, technology, and evolving commercial models intersect. This could include businesses across digital infrastructure and data centers, energy technology, industrial automation, infrastructure software, mobility, and other emerging areas. The role suits an investor with a strong foundation in infrastructure or energy who has increasingly gravitated toward the technologies and business models transforming these markets.
Key responsibilities:
Originate and evaluate new investment opportunities across infrastructure, energy, technology, and adjacent markets Develop investment theses around emerging sectors, technologies, and business models Lead financial, commercial, and strategic underwriting of prospective investments Build and oversee detailed financial models, valuation analysis, and investment returns Lead commercial, financial, technical, and market diligence, coordinating external advisors where appropriate Prepare and present investment recommendations and supporting analysis to the investment committee Lead key aspects of transaction structuring, negotiation, documentation, and execution Develop relationships with founders, management teams, industry executives, advisors, and other market participants Work closely with portfolio company leadership on strategic priorities, financing, growth, and value creation Support and mentor junior investment professionals Contribute to the continued development of the firm's investment strategy and broader platform
Skills and experience:
Significant investment experience within private equity, infrastructure investing, growth equity, or another relevant investment platform Strong experience across infrastructure, energy, power, digital infrastructure, industrial technology, or adjacent sectors Demonstrated transaction execution experience with the ability to take substantial ownership of an investment process Strong financial modeling, valuation, and commercial underwriting capabilities Experience evaluating complex or capital-intensive businesses and understanding the risks associated with physical infrastructure Demonstrated exposure to technology, innovation, or emerging business models within infrastructure-related markets Ability to evaluate opportunities that may sit outside conventional infrastructure underwriting frameworks, including businesses with technology risk, evolving commercial models, or significant growth and development requirements Strong commercial judgment and the ability to form an investment view with incomplete or evolving information Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing and presenting investment recommendations Comfortable operating in a tight-knit entrepreneurial investment environment with significant individual responsibility Prior venture or growth investing experience is advantageous but not required What's on offer Senior investment role with a specialist and growing private investment firm Direct exposure to the firm's senior leadership and investment decision-making Broad mandate spanning origination, underwriting, execution, and portfolio engagement Opportunity to invest across the convergence of technology and physical infrastructure Exposure to both technology-enabled businesses and capital-intensive infrastructure opportunities Significant responsibility within a lean investment team and the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of the investment platform Competitive base salary, annual bonus, and long-term incentive participation On-site role based in New York City All applications will be handled in confidence.
