Job Summary:
Responsible for developing and operating CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programs to accurately inspect precision-manufactured parts. Analyzes measurement results, supports quality decisions, and assists with process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and operate CMM inspection programs. Perform dimensional and visual inspections of parts. Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements. Analyze inspection results and identify nonconforming material. Support first-piece, first-operation, and in-process inspections. Prepare inspection reports, documentation, and quality records. Assist production, customers, and suppliers with quality-related issues. Train and support CMM operators. Support continuous improvement and AS9100 Quality Management System activities.
Qualifications:
Associate degree or 2+ years of relevant experience/training. Experience with CMM inspection/programming. Working knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings. Strong measurement, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to use computers for inspection reports, data analysis, and documentation.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and handle inspection equipment. Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Requires close vision and attention to detail.
Work Environment:
Primarily a manufacturing/quality inspection environment with occasional exposure to machinery, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards.
