Kennel Assistant

Job Description: Kennel Assistants are responsible for the day-to-day care of pets in our boarding facility. This includes feeding, watering, cleaning, walking, bathing and monitoring the well-being of dogs and cats. Kennel Assistants must have sufficient physical strength, mobility and stamina to lift and or move heavy pets and objects, the dexterity and confidence to administer medications, and the ability to monitor pets for signs of distress or disease. It is essential that they have the willingness to learn and the desire to provide gentle, compassionate care for pets in the boarding facility. We prefer to have someone with a moderate amount of animal experience in a boarding facility.

Job Requirements: Ability to follow low stress handling techniques Able to work independently and without supervision Has an upbeat and outgoing personality with ability to work with a variety of personalities Enjoys working with people and able to effectively communicate with clients in person, over the phone and electronically High attention to detail Able to work in a fast paced environment and multi-task Comfortable using a windows-based computer software program Flexible schedule including weekend, evening and holiday hours Ability to stand for long periods of time and able to lift 40# Reliable transportation Ok with cleaning for up to 50% of their shift
