Position Overview: The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as a CWS/Education Reviewer. Essential Functions: Serves as Education Reviewer.
Monitors the implementation of early childhood/child welfare collaborative programming within the region. Serves as liaison to Head Start/Early Head Start grantee agencies; monitors and maintains the DCFS/Head Start/Early Head Start shared data list agreement. Develops services and resources for inclusion in the statewide database; m akes recommendations regarding the statewide IDCFS/Head Start/Early Head Start strategic plan; p articipates in regional work groups to develop and implement goals within the statewide Intergovernmental Agreement. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications: Preferably requires a master’s degree in social work;
OR A master’s degree in a related human service field, supplemented by one year of directly related professional casework/case management experience; OR Requires a bachelor’s degree in social work AND one year of directly related professional casework/case management experience; OR Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related human service field and two years of directly related professional casework/case management experience. The college or university issuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree must be accredited, and the degree program in social work must be approvedby the Council on Social Work Education. The directly related professional casework/case management experience must be related to familypreservation, family reunification, adoption, youth development, counseling, and advocacy services or a related field. This class is included as an Upward Mobility Program credential title. Specialized Skills Of the noted years of experience, requires that the experience include casework/case management experience in the school system and/or ISBE funded programs; requires extensive knowledge of current education strategies, theories, and principles as evidenced by at least one year of experience working in the school system or ISBE funded systems in a role requiring the implementation of such.
Preferred Qualifications: Prefers two years of experience in casework/case management in the school system and/or ISBE funded programs. Prefers two years of experience utilizing extensive knowledge of current education strategies, theories, and principles in a public or private organization.
