This organization is much more than an operating company – it’s also the steward of a globally recognized intellectual-property platform supported by important licensing relationships. Their family office is looking for a hands-on senior staff accountant that will report directly to their CFO. This role provides a clear path to controllership via a training program designed by their CFO. The Senior Staff Accountant is expected to master the responsibilities of the position before advancement. Progress will be measured by the ability to complete work accurately, on time, independently, and with an understanding of how each transaction affects the entire accounting system. This role will work onsite in Savannah, GA - our client will provide relocation assistance.
What You'll Do:
- Maintain and review accounts payable/receivable.
- Prepare and post journal entries with complete supporting documentation.
- Review general ledger accounts for accuracy, consistency, and unusual activity
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate differences.
- Complete assigned month-end closing procedures according to the established closing calendar.
- Balance cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other subsidiary records to the general ledger
- Prepare a complete trial balance and supporting schedules for CFO review.
- Maintain accounting records in an audit-ready condition.
- Assist with monthly financial statement preparation and variance research.
- Support consolidated reporting and intercompany accounting.
- Assist with accounting and analysis related to royalty income and intellectual property.
- Review royalty-related reports and supporting accounting information for completeness and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; advanced accounting education or CPA-track background preferred.
Strong hands-on general ledger accounting experience.
Demonstrated experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash accounting, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closing.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to learn accounting and reporting systems.
Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a small Family Office where accuracy, flexibility, confidentiality, and personal accountability are essential.
