About the role

Student Dining Room Attendant The Student Assistant will support Lakeside Cafe as a Student Dining Room Attendant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2026. The Student Dining Room Attendant plays a key role in ensuring a clean, welcoming, and organized dining environment for students, faculty, and staff. This position involves maintaining dining areas, assisting guests, and working as part of a team to provide a great dining experience. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting guests in the dining area, cleaning and sanitizing the front of food stations and counters, tables, chairs, and dining spaces regularly and assisting with clearing trays and organizing dish return area. Restocking dishes, utensils, napkins, and condiments as needed. Sweeping, mopping, and maintaining floors for cleanliness and safety. Emptying trash and recycling bins as needed. Up to 25 hours per week. Flexible with schedule of availability. Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
Educational Requirements: Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University. Proposed Salary: $10.00 per hour. This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis. Required Documents to Attach: Resume Schedule of Availability.
ABILITIES: Consistently exhibit engaging customer service. Ability to support various constituencies served by the University. Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position.
KNOWLEDGE: Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success.
