About the role

RoleSoftware Test Engineer II supporting manufacturing and NPI development of Illumina’s sequencing instruments. Responsibilitiesperform system-level testing, troubleshoot software, server, cybersecurity, and hardware issues; develop and execute test strategies, plans, and cases; conduct exploratory testing, defect investigation, and root-cause analysis; collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Manufacturing, Development, Regulatory, Supply Chain) to ensure product quality, compliance, and manufacturing goals; implement ECO changes and lead trending issue resolution.
Requirements: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; 3+ years in software testing, quality, or systems integration; experience with functional, integration, system, regression testing; strong troubleshooting skills; familiarity with Linux/Windows, defect tracking (Jira, Jama), and working with physical instruments in a lab environment. Nice to Haveembedded systems, test automation, cybersecurity knowledge, experience in regulated medical environments, scripting skills (Python/shell), project management, and AI-assisted testing tools. High Valuesequencing instrument manufacturing support, NPI development, software verification, cross-team collaboration, and lab environment work. LocationU.S., primarily on-site with potential travel; Salarysalary range $103K–$154.6K, plus benefits, bonus, and equity options.
