Role Description:
The Payroll Clerk is a part-time, remote role responsible for supporting accurate and timely payroll processing for Adelante Healthcare’s workforce. On a day-to-day basis, this role reviews and enters employee time and attendance data, verifies payroll changes such as new hires, terminations, and pay rate updates, and assists with calculating wages, deductions, and adjustments. The Payroll Clerk helps maintain payroll records, responds to employee inquiries regarding pay and timekeeping, and supports compliance with payroll policies and regulations. This role collaborates with the accounting and HR teams to resolve discrepancies, prepare basic payroll reports, and ensure confidential handling of sensitive employee information.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess skills in Payroll Services and Payroll Administration to assist with routine payroll processing and data entry.
Candidates should possess skills in Payroll Management and Payroll Taxes to help ensure accurate compensation and regulatory compliance.
Candidates should possess skills in Accounting to support reconciliation of payroll transactions and coordination with financial records.
Attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and proficiency with payroll or HRIS software and spreadsheets.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, prioritize tasks, and work independently in a remote environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with team members and responding to employee questions.
Experience in healthcare or nonprofit settings is beneficial; prior payroll or accounting support experience is preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or certification in payroll or accounting is an advantage.
