Mazak Lathe Machinist

The shop focuses on tight-tolerance prototype and short-run work, not high-volume production. This position plays a key role in ensuring quality, consistency, and on-time delivery for complex parts where experience truly matters.

The Work: You'll Be Doing In this role, you will: Set up and operate Mazak CNC lathes (single-turret, horizontal) Program and edit jobs directly at the machine using Mazatrol Machine tight-tolerance prototype and short-run parts Interpret complex blueprints and GD&T requirements Select tooling, offsets, feeds, speeds, and workholding Perform in-process and first-article inspections Work independently with ownership of jobs from setup through completion Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area Contribute ideas and improvements within the lathe department This is a hands-on, senior-level role — not a button-pushing production position. Machines, Controls & Equipment You'll work with equipment such as: Machines: Mazak CNC Lathes (single-turret, horizontal) Controls: Mazatrol Inspection Tools: Standard shop inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
