About the role

Models blur the line between what's established, what's contested, and what's simply made up in the life sciences, and they cite papers that don't exist. As a Biologist you'll hold AI biological reasoning to the standard of the literature and write answers that get the science right. What you’ll actually doWrite promptsthat probe biological reasoning: molecular mechanisms, experimental design, and data interpretation. Review AI outputfor fabricated citations, overstated claims, and misread experiments, and rate the reasoning. Write the correct answerwhen the model falls short, grounded in the actual literature. Roles this fits Common backgrounds: Biologist, Molecular Biologist. What we look for Graduate-level biology background or equivalent research experience. Comfort reading primary literature critically. Clear written English: your explanations are the training signal. No degree required. We care about what you can do, not where you learned it. Compensation Up to $125+/hr depending on task difficulty and specialization. Many contributors add $100k–$200k a year; some make it their full-time income. About DataAnnotation DataAnnotation is where 1M+ experts train the world’s leading AI models. Hundreds of millions paid to contributors to date, and the average contributor stays 5+ years. Flexible, remote, and always project-available.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
