About the role

Weld Quality Technician We are seeking a Weld Quality Technician with an active Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification to lead visual testing (VT) activities in a manufacturing environment. This role provides technical guidance to inspection personnel and helps ensure welds meet customer specifications and quality standards while supporting production schedules.
Responsibilities: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to VT Level II inspectors. Train, examine, certify, and audit inspection personnel in accordance with the company's written practice. Review VT indications and provide technical analysis for engineering review. Apply and oversee visual inspection procedures, including accurate documentation of results. Interpret drawings, blueprints, codes, and customer quality records and review inspection technique sheets. Work with production and quality teams to improve inspection workflows and resolve quality issues. Investigate failures, identify root causes, and support corrective actions.
Qualifications: High school diploma and an active CWI least 5 years of visual testing, nondestructive testing, and quality assurance experience. Experience supporting production teams in a manufacturing environment. Ability to interpret welding codes, technical requirements, and inspection procedures. Strong technical writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Senior-level CWI designation is preferred.
