Job Description: Job Description Light Composites is an AS9100:D / ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer of advanced carbon fiber composite structures for aerospace, defense, and medical customers in Poway, CA. We are a small-batch, high-mix shop where engineers own problems end to end - some days you are designing tooling and programming toolpaths at a desk, other days you are on the floor making a build work. WHAT YOU'LL OWN- Manufacturing process development from prototype through production- Tooling and fixture design- CAM programming and CNC support- Manufacturing documentation: work instructions, travelers, MBOMs, process specifications- Shop-floor problem solving, MRB dispositions, and corrective actions- Continuous improvement in cost, cycle time, and qualityWHAT YOU BRING- 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience (composites strongly preferred)- Hands-on knowledge of composite processes: prepreg layup, oven/autoclave cure, trimming and machining- CAD/CAM proficiency (Fusion 360 preferred)- Blueprint fluency and GD&T- Experience working in AS9100 or a similar quality system- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience- A bias for the floor: we hire problem solvers, not spectatorsREQUIREMENTS- Reliable transportation to and from work- Legally authorized to work in the United States; must meet the U.S. Person definition per ITAR- Consistent, punctual attendance; willingness to work occasional overtime to meet production schedules- Commitment to shop safety practices and required PPE- Physical requirements: able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation- Ability to pass a background check and drug screenCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS- Salary range: $95,000 - $120,000 depending on experience- Medical, dental, and vision through ADP Total Source- 401(k)- Paid time off and paid holidays Light Composites is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
